6 Months Old Already!

Dear Baby Waider,

I'm overcome with amazement that you've been a part of our lives for six months already! In some ways it seems like only yesterday that we met and in other ways it seems like I've known you forever. Your mom has been horrible about blogging. That doesn't mean that lots hasn't been going on. So far since I've blogged last you had some trials and tribulations. Mom and dad had conferences and you had to stay at Grandma and Grandpa Halter's house late! You did not like it one little bit. In fact you cried, and cried, and cried! You missed your mom and dad. In addition to conferences you also battled, and beat, your first ear infection and cold. You were a pretty miserable little gal, but we somehow managed. You wouldn't really sleep at all and the medicine you were given made you equally as miserable. Luckily you healed and seem content.

You also started to eat some solid foods. Right now your favorite food is sweet potatoes mixed with rice cereal. You love when it is time for us to feed you. You like it the best when mom and dad are both there while you eat. You smile, laugh, and when you get too full you spit. All over. Spitting is one of your favorite tricks. You are pretty good at it too!

You've also very developmentally mastered rolling over. You did it the first time out of the sight of your adoring parents eyes, but the kids and grandma at daycare were pretty psyched to witness your little milestone. Now you like to roll over all the time and scoot along while you play. You are always moving.

One of your favorite places to be is in your Jumparoo! You could jump for hours in that thing. I'm pretty sure it's probably been recalled several times because you LOVE it. We watch you closely and love to laugh along with you as you bounce, and bounce, and bounce!

Your parents have some goals to accomplish in the next couple of months. First, we need to get you out of your swaddle. Next, we need you to sleep in your crib. We also need to get you to nap and sleep through the night. All of this will happen so easily once your mom and dad are out of school for the summer! :) You are so lucky that both of your parents will be off for three whole months to spend with you! We can't wait to just have all day every day to hang out with you.

Love,

Mom

  1. So fun that you get to be with her all summer!!!!!!!!!! She is a lucky girl. Need to talk to you about this jumparoo business. Also - why can't she still be swaddled? I would love to be swaddled every night, is there an age limit on this?!!! I am requesting more pictures in the next post.
