What's With All the Noise?
You are probably wondering WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS WITH TODAY????? 1. Your mom was up before 9:00 AM. 2. We did not get to eat a leisurely breakfast. 3. We missed Dr. Phil and Oprah. 4. We were surrounded by little voices that were probably close to your ear level. You were actually at the FDOS (first day of school). You were at school last spring, but I'm not sure you were able to hear anything back then. Today I'm sure you heard quite a bit of, "Mrs. Waider..." That's what my students call me. That REALLY LOUD TIME, that was lunch. By the way did you notice how little your mom ate and how she practically never had time to go to the bathroom? Today was completely different. But, it was good to be back to work even though we didn't get to be as leisurely. Plus as a bonus the kids were really funny today. Yes, many of them asked about you. The best coming from a kid who said, pointing at my belly, "Do you have a baby in there?" I said, "Yes." She says, "Oh ya, I could tell." Turns out some of the kids think they are going to miss your mom while she's home with you. Funny enough by day 5 of school they will probably be praying that I deliver you a few weeks early so they can get a break from your grouchy mom. Which reminds me you best just take notes right now because I can be demanding, bossy, have really high expectations, and can be down right vicious, but I only do that because I love and care about you and want you to do your best! :) And, just think, in 5 short years you'll be going to your very own FDOS. After today you'll be way ahead of the other kids.
Love,
Your mom

Nursery maddness
Dear Baby Waider,
I think it's high time I fill you in a little on the crisis, I mean fun your nursery has been to put together. First, your mom has a horrible time picking out paint colors. 1. She's not that great at it. 2. Someday your dad can tell you how many times he painted the living room / kitchen. 3. I wanted to be sure I picked out the perfect color for you! So, at long last I, with the guidance of your dad and auntie Katie, setteled on a turquioise of sorts. You can see it in the picture below. I think it is beautiful and your super aunt Francey is in the process of making you some swanky bedding and curtains out of pale pink and white fabric. It is also pertinent for me to tell you at this time that you dad is a major perfectionist and wants everything to be perfect for you. So, despite your mom wanting to be very lazy and not fix the texture problem on the wall your dad wanted to and enlisted Grandma Halter's help to wallpaper. She came out of wallpapering retirement just for you! Your dad wanted to shop for new texture wallpaper while I wanted to use what we had and just buy the little more we needed to finish the job... so we did it my way...the first time. See, it turned out to be a disaster. The wallpaper was more like tissue paper and grandma and dad were not digging it. So, despite the fact I thought it looked great THEY TORE IT DOWN! AND they decided to start all over the next day. We found some awesome paper. Your mom even got it for cheap at Lowes because they had it in the wrong spot. Being a little pregnant and crazy she wasn't afraid to demand it for the much lower price the wrong spot offered her. After some intense negotiating she walked out with her discount paper and head held high. Grandma Halter came back and wallpapered again because she says she'll only wallpaper for a grandkid. It does look beautiful and your mom learned an important lesson: if you are going to do something do it right the first time or don't do it at all. That and sometimes it pays to spend a little extra money for a little better product.
Have no fear your little haven of sorts will be ready in plenty of time for you.
Here are some pictures commemorating the crazy wallpaper project. None of us look ready for a beauty pageant. We were working hard. Don't you think your dad looks homeless? Anyway, I was eating a snack in the picture of me and grandma was on a texting break. After we finished grandma schooled us in cribbage.
Love,
Mom
P.S. excuse any errors. I did this entire post from my phone. I know! Your mom is the coolest! :)

Baby Waider= Celebrity
Dear Baby Waider,
First of all, I can explain. I am sorry that I let a leprechaun at the Sturgis Rally and a washed up lead singer of a 90's heavy metal band rub my stomach when I was pregnant with you. See, the two of them were a part of the hit reality show "Full Throttle." Why does this matter? Well, because it takes place in Sturgis, during the Sturgis Rally. That was that time we went to that REALLY LOUD place where I walked around forever, and finished it all off with onion rings. Remember? Anyway back to the stomach rubbing.
I was walking down the street with my pal, Dawn Elkjer. We were having a delightful time when we noticed a camera crew hanging out along the street. Immediately I was able to spot Jesse, from the band Jackyl, and the show "Full Throttle." So this is what happened.
Carol: OMG! That is Jesse from Jackyl and the Full Throttle
Dawn: Who is that?
Carol: Hey! Jesse! Can we have a picture.
Jesse: Sure!
We pose for the picture. Notice in the picture, my mouth is open. That's because I was talking to him.
Carol: How was the show last night?
Jesse: You didn't go?!
Carol: No! I'm 7 months pregnant.
Jesse: YOU ARE PREGNANT??!!!
Carol: Yes.
Jesse: I've been looking for a pregnant lady so that I can deliver a baby on the stage at the Full Throttle.
Don't worry, Jesse won't be delivering you, but if your dad had his way he would be...
Carol: Well I'm not due until October.
Jesse was clearly disappointed, but then he proceeded to touch my stomach and had the leprechaun do the same. The good news is that WE might make the "Full Throttle Reality Show!" We have to wait until the fall to see for sure. Maybe once you are born you will be able to watch the whole situation unfold on TV yourself!
(I can't get this picture to be smaller. It is being a real pain. Notice the giant camera? That's what might be filming us so that we would be on the show!)
My guess is that you will not be a Jackyl fan. They had a couple good songs, and I saw them in concert once at an event called Rockfest, but all in all they are not that impressive. At any rate I wanted you to be able to see a picture of the band.
Thanks, Dawn for being my awesome photographer! You did a great job. :)
Love,
Your Mom
